Pretivm is creating value through gold, producing 376,012 oz Au in 2018 at the 100% owned Brucejack Mine and firmly establishing the company as an Intermediate Producer. Brucejack Mine is a high-grade gold underground mine located in northwestern British Columbia, approximately 65 kilometers north of Stewart.  In 2018, Pretivm received amended permits to increase production by 40% to 3,800 tpd. At $1,300 gold, Brucejack now has an estimated after-tax net present value at a 5% discount rate of $2.59 billion over a 14-year mine life.

About the Opportunities 

Currently, we have an excellent opportunity for a Mill Maintenance Superintendent to join our team based in Brucejack Mine on a full-time basis. Brucejack Mine itself is located in Northwestern BC and is located approximately 65 kilometres from Stewart. You'll work onsite at Brucejack Mine on a 13 days on/13 days off rotation. 

As the Mill Maintenance Superintendent, you will report to the Mill Manager and be primarily responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and optimization of an asset maintenance and management strategy that provides mechanical and equipment capability, reliability, and availability of all mining equipment and infrastructure at the Brucejack Mine. In addition, you'll also be responsible for developing, directing, and monitoring planned preventative and predictive maintenance programs in order to attain the greatest operating profit while maximizing equipment efficiencies as per manufacturer's specifications. 

More specifically your responsibilities will include:

  • Supervising, coordinating, and scheduling the activities of Planners, Millwrights, Welders, Electricians, Plumbers, Instrument Technicians, and Maintenance Service Contractors.
  • Establishing work schedules and coordinating activities with project, surface, mill operations, and environmental managers, superintendents, and supervisors. 
  • Effectively monitoring all milling and process operations to ensure that manufacturers established operating procedures and best practices are adhered to and that any downtime on all equipment is recorded and accurately reported. 
  • Developing and implementing an asset management system/strategy to ensure that reports on equipment availability/failures are compiled with recommendations for equipment usage/change based on report findings.
  • Managing data collection and information gathering to more effectively provide planned maintenance service in the future. 
  • Developing and maintaining accurate maintenance plans and service schedules in an environment of ever-changing priorities. 
  • Providing work scope planning for daily, weekly, and long-term maintenance activities to ensure goals are achievable within the maintenance schedule. 
  • Evaluating the effectiveness of maintenance systems and implementing alternative procedures if deemed necessary. 
  • Coordinating and managing labour, parts, and equipment, in a timely and effective manner in order to meet maintenance schedules.
  • Working with the warehouse to manage stock levels with a focus on vendor quality and service in order to provide the optimum lead-time for maintenance plans. 
  • Preparing and managing operating and capital budgets. 
  • Resolving work problems and recommending measures to improve productivity. 
  • Training, or arranging for the training of workers, while supervising and scheduling activities of related apprentices, helpers, and labourers. 

In order to qualify for this role, you will have a red seal millwright certification along with a minimum of 15 years of mill maintenance experience, 5 of which must have been at superintendent level. Experience in coordinating start-up and trouble-shooting of new process facilities is an asset.

As our ideal candidate for this role, you'll have a background in project management and coordination along with demonstrated experience supervising multiple trades within a mining environment. Your natural aptitude for leadership will combine with your excellent communication skills to ensure your success in this role as you manage multiple stakeholders and work towards competing deadlines.
